The CAB joins the day of mourning for science

At 12:00 in the morning the researchers of the Astrobiology Center (CAB, CSIC-INTA) have shown their adhesion to the initiative keeping a minute of silence.

Without science there is no future. A phrase so simple and that contains a stark reality that seems to be ignored when checking the disappointing 2014 R + D + i budgets proposed by the Government. However, scientists have it clear and show their rejection through different initiatives with the aim of raising awareness in society of this serious problem.

The Collective Letter for Science is a platform in defense of the Research, development and innovation arising from the 2012 Charter for Science and integrating different institutions with the support of most research centers in Spain.

In this line, for today October 17 and under the slogan "Day of Mourning for Science" have convened various events among which stand out at the doors of research centers and the rectors of universities throughout Spain, at 12 noon, to keep a minute of silence in memory of the R & D that is killing us.

The CAB has joined this initiative and several of its researchers are actively involved in the events convened. In particular, at 12:00, a group of researchers has focused on the entrance to the center to keep a few minutes of silence as a sign of rejection of the serious situation that Spanish science is going through.
