The first spatial cooking competition is born: La Patata Marciana


This is a contest organized by the Astrobiology Center (CSIC-INTA) and the Albireo Cultura Científica Foundation, in combination with the International Potato Center (CIP) and the University of Engineering and Technology of Peru. It also has the collaboration of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the Cotec Foundation and the National Institute of Aerospace Technology (INTA), and the magazine Muy Interesante as media partner.

The ultimate goal of 'La Patata Marciana' is to compile a series of recipes in which the main ingredient is one of the potato varieties selected by scientists for to be cultivated on Mars, and inspired by the characteristics of the Red Planet. It is therefore an exercise in creativity that combines culinary art with scientific knowledge.
